Australian Singer-Songwriter Diana Clark’s music is adventurous - smashing together elements of Oz Rock/Roots, Brazilian Pop and Jazz - she is blending all her influences in her upcoming single release ‘Sunny Daze’ [Diana May Clark and The Sunny Set] - an electrifying, hooky 60s pure pop extravaganza. This is a rich sound; sultry, playful and moving.

The blend of this new style with Diana's well established Brazilian Jazz fluency is both unique and instantly charming. Her songs speak of willing the sun into the darkest places, slowing down, family, unity, even a reworking of 'Mama Africa' by Brazilian Poet/Pop-star/Politician Chico Cesar with her English lyric.

"Driving this new band is a revelation!” she says. “I’m singing originals, while playing with a kick ass rhythm section including ‘Doc' de Vries as I’ve re-named him, on electric guitar. I've carved my own sound and wanna share it with the world.”

De Vries and Clark have established a loyal fan base in Australia and travel to Brazil regularly for collaboration and inspiration for their own compositions. Their recordings 'A Knot in the Wood' and 'Three Shadows of Blue' winning Arts Critics favor in the USA and Australia.
Together they have published a Brazilian Songbook and established Brazilian music studies at NMIT Bach of Music in Fairfield, Melbourne.

“When you can sing in Portuguese, count Nina Simone and k.d. lang as influences, and are backed by Doug de Vries on guitar it’ s hard to go wrong. It also helps that Diana Clark has an amazing voice.”

“De Vries and Clark feel the music of Brazil down to their bones. His guitar is full of romance and her voice is so intimate it could make you blush. Australia may be halfway around the world from Brazil but you'd never know it from listening to their CDs" Cadence Magazine [USA].

"…Buoyed by gently vibrant Afro-Brazilian rhythms, Clark’s warm vocals can soften the melancholy of a yearning lyric, or coax the vibrant rhythms around her into a dance of celebration.” Jessica Nicholas , The AGE

"Singing in Portuguese, Diana's light, melifluous voice perfectly compliments de Vries' virtuosity on the 7 string guitar. Marrying old and new sounds, they manage to remain faithful to the 'musica brasileira' genre while retaining a strong Australian sensibility." Lily Bragg, The AGE [Melbourne].
